The beginning
Our journey starts with a simple idea
Inspired by how I dry my turnout gear at the fire department, I thought to myself, I can dry my hockey gear similar.
First Dryer
Made my first prototype mimicking the department dryer
Made from PVC pipe, and utilizing a pet dryer bought on Amazon.
2nd Rendition
Tired of loading and unloading gear
I offered to give cut dimensions and plans to fellow players on my team. One friend stated: "That's cool, but I'm too lazy to take my gear out every time". So I build the PVC system to fit inside a bag.
Bag Insert Prototype
Getting somewhere
After using the PVC bag system, I found out it was bulky and heavy, so the first fabric insert was born. Partnering with a local bag manufacturer, they agreed to help prototype my first lightweight air circulation insert. Also, when I decided to file for patent protection.

How does the PlayFresh System work?
PlayFresh uses powered airflow that moves through built-in channels to ventilate the entire bag. It's like putting all your gear into a dryer without having to remove anything from the bag.
How long does it take to dry the gear?
Drying time varies based on how wet your equipment is, but on average your full setup is dry in about 2 hours.
Does the PlayFresh Insert work in any bag?
Yes- PlayFresh inserts will work in any bag large enough to fit them.
Is the system safe for all gear materials?
Yes. After over a year of real-world testing, there have been no issues. Unlike some competitors that use ozone (which can degrade plastics over time), PlayFresh uses only heated air.

Does it reduce odor or just moisture?
Both. Odor is caused by bacteria thriving in moisture. When you remove moisture, you remove odor. You can also place an air freshener in the flow path to add a fresh scent.
